Rohrs Benin Republics Winless Run Continues After 2-1 Loss To Madagascar In Friendly

Gernot Rohrs Benin Republic side lost 2-1 to Madagascar in Tuesdays international friendly game.

Benin Republic are now winless in their last four games, recording two defeats and two draws.

The last time they won a match was in March on match day four of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers when they beat Rwanda 3-0 away.

Benin Republic took the lead in the 3rd minute through Cedric Hountonji but Tsiry Razafindrasata equalised for Madagascar on 21 minutes.

In the 51st minute Jean Yves got Madagascars second goal which proved to be the winner.

Former Super Eagles coach Rohr, failed to qualify Benin Republic for next years AFCON in Cameroon.

He will hope to do better in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers as Benin Republic will face the Super Eagles in Group C.

Other teams in the group are South Africa, Rwanda, Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
