2026 WCQ: Boniface Can Deliver The Goals For Super Eagles In Osimhens Absence Against Lesotho, Zimbabwe Dosu

Former Nigerian international, Dosu Joseph believes Super Eagles forward, Victor Boniface can deliver the goals for the Nigeria in the absence of Victor Osimhen ahead of the teams 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho this month.

Recall that Osimhen was excluded from the team due to injury and hes expected to miss the two games Nigeria will play against Lesotho and Zimbabwe respectively.

In a chat with Completesports.com, the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist said that Boniface has what it takes to fill into the shoes of Osimhen in the senior national team.

I think everybody is looking for opportunities and we all know Osimhen as a goal poacher for country and his club. However, at this moment, we all know that hes nursing an injury , if not he will surely be in the team.

I think the players that have been invited will surely do better. But most importantly is for Nigeria to win.

Those that will be played in place of Osimhen will put in their best and have their own opportunity once it comes.

The two players are young players and they play for their clubs week in and week out and they take in their opportunities when the chances comes.

I believe Boniface can do it when the chances comes but then, we hope and pray he puts in the ball into the net when the ball arrives.
