The versatile winger was raised in England by Nigerian parents.

The 24-year-opted to play for three-time African champions Nigeria instead of the Three Lions of England.

Hes a good guy, a great player, and a fantastic player. Ive been speaking to him since he joined Leverkusen and even before the national team call-up came and I told him he needs to relate with the fans. I told him he did well last season and if hes quiet, nobody will see him, so he has to relate with them, Boniface told OmaSports TV.

Im really happy for him because he got the invitation and is a different type of player than other wingers. Hes more direct and I think he will bring some good stuff to the national team.

Tella will look to make his debut for the Super Eagles when they file against Lesotho tonight at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
