AFCON 2023: 17 S/Eagles Players Arrive Camp, To Hold First Training Wednesday Evening

A total of 17 players have arrived the Super Eagles Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) training camp ahead of preparations for the AFCON 2023.

The arrival of the players was revealed on the Super Eagles X handle on Wednesday morning.

The 17 players already in camp are Ahmed Musa,
Kenneth Omeruo, Moses Simon, Olorunleke Ojo, Alex Iwobi, Semi Ajayi, Ola Aina, Calvin Bassey, Ademola Lookman and Joe Aribo.

Others are Frank Onyeka, Bruno Onyemaechi, Chidozie Awaziem, Zaidu Sanusi, Victor Boniface, Raphael Onyedika and Bright Osayi-Samuel.

The likes of Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, William Troost-Ekong, Francis Uzoho are yet to arrive.

Unfortunately, Wilfred Ndidi will not be part of the Super Eagles squad due to injury and has been replaced by Alhassan Yusuf.

Also, there are reports that Kelechi Iheanacho could miss out because of injury and Terem Moffi has been touted as his replacement.

Meanwhile, the teams first training will commence on Wednesday evening.

The AFCON 2023 will commence on 13 January and end on 11 February, 2024.

The Eagles will face Equatorial Guinea in their first Group A game on January 14.
