Akpom, a former Arsenal and Middlesbrough striker, has now scored in back-to-back games for Ajax.
The 28-year-old scored his first goal for Ajax on Thursday, in a 2-0 league win against Volendam.
He has taken his tally to three in seven appearances in the league.
It is two wins in two games for the Eredivisie giants, who had gone 10 games without a win prior to the game against Volendam.
With Ajax 2-1 ahead, Akpom came on in the 73rd minute and got his sides third goal in the 84th minute.
In the 92nd minute, Akpom then got his second goal and Ajaxs fourth.
The win saw Ajax move up to 11th on 11 points in the 18-team league standings.
