Failed Break-In: Suspected Burglar Falls Through Ceiling, Breaks Leg

A 34-year-old man found himself in an unfortunate predicament after attempting to break into a home in Watsonia, KZN, South Africa.

In a funny twist of fate, the suspected burglar fell through the ceiling, resulting in a broken right leg.

The homeowner, upon returning to his residence to retrieve a forgotten item, was startled to discover the intruder in one of the bedrooms during the early hours of Monday, November 20, 2023.

Swiftly realizing the situation on ground,  he promptly contacted the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre for assistance.

Responding without delay, the officers arrived at the scene at approximately 07:57

The homeowner recounted the turn of events, explaining that he had stumbled upon the burglar in the act of breaking in through the roof.

However, the burglar’s misfortune took an unexpected turn when the ceiling gave way, causing him to fall to the ground below.

The suspected burglar suffered a suspected fracture in his right leg as a result of the fall.

While his intentions may have been malicious, fate seemed to have dealt with him on his own accord.

Medical personnel promptly attended to the injured suspect, who now faces legal consequences in addition to nursing his broken leg.
