Leaders Remo Stars went down to 2-1 defeat against Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Saturday.

Ibrahim Mustapha gave Pillars the lead five minutes after the break.

The visitors fought back with Dayo Ojo netting the equaliser in the 72nd minute.

Five-time winners Heartland defeated Akwa United 1-0 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri with Chidiebere Ajoku netting the winner late in the first half.

In Awka, Rangers claimed a 2-0 victory against Sporting Lagos.

Austin Onyemaechi and Kenechukwu Agu were the goal scorers for the Flying Antelopes.

Kwara United and Niger Tonardoes battled to a 0-0 draw in Ilorin.
