Omeruos Goal Not Enough As Zahas Brace For Galatasaray Sinks Kasimpasa

Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo was on target for Kasimpasa who lost 2-1 to Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday.

It was Omeruos first goal in the Turkish elite league this season.

Galatasarays two goals were scored by Cte dIvoire star forward Wilfried Zaha, who has now taken his tally in the Turkish league to three goals in eight appearances.

The former Crystal Palace forward opened the scoring in the 33rd minute and doubled Galatasarays lead in the 51st minute.

Omeruo then pulled a goal back for Kasimpasa on 54 minutes which was not enough as Galatasaray held on to secure the three points.

While the win saw Galatasaray climb to the top of the league table on 31 points, Kasimpasa are in 5th place on 18 points.

Omeruo and Zaha are expected to come up against each other when the Super Eagles face Cte dIvoire at next years AFCON in the French speaking country.

Both teams are in Group A alongside Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau at next years tournament.

The last time the Super Eagles clashed with Cte dIvoire at the AFCON was in the quarter-finals of the 2013 edition.

Emmanuel Emenike and Sunday Mba scored for the Eagles while the late Cheick Tiote was on target for the Ivorians.
