Rukayat Shobowale is upbeat the Falconets will beat Tanzania to the 2024 FIFA U-20 Womens World Cup fourth round ticket.

The Falconets were held to a 1-1 draw by the Tanzanite Queens in the first leg of their third round clash at the Azam Sports Complex, Dar es Salaam on Sunday.

Chioma Olise gave Nigeria the lead in the 57th minute, while Asnath Mbamba equalised for the home team 19 minutes from time.

Both teams will clash in the reverse fixture at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja this weekend.

Glory be to God as I made my debut for the Nigeria U20 side against Tanzania in the U20 FIFA Womens World Cup Qualifier in Tanzania. The game ended 1-1, a fair result but we are determined to finish strong by winning the return leg in Abuja,Shobowale wrote on her X handle.

The Falconets have qualified for all editions of the FIFA U-20 Womens World Cup since the inaugural tournament in Canada 2002.

Colombia will host the next edition of the competition from August 31 to September 22, 2024.

The competition has been expanded from 16 to 24 teams.
