UCL: ‘I’ll Do My Best’ -Mkhitaryan Speaks Ahead Inter Vs RB Salzburg

Armenian midfielder Henrik Mkhitaryan says his club Inter Milan is focused on their clash with Austrian Bundesliga club RB Salzburg which takes place on Tuesday, October 24 at the San Siro Stadium.

The Nerazurri (Black and Blues) are just a point ahead of Salzburg in the Champions League group standings and will need an outright victory to stand a good chance of qualifying for the round of 16.

Inter were in the final of last seasons Champions League where they were beaten 1-0 by Premier League outfit Manchester City.

Speaking in a press conference Mkhitaryan says the team would give their best in the clash tomorrow.

We know we didnt start well against Real Sociedad but did well against Benfica, footballitalia.net quoted Mkhitaryan as saying.

Hopefully we can do the same tomorrow and continue our path. We dont look at the Serie A table, because the season is long. Now we play in the Champions League and its a different competition. We proved against Benfica that we want to do well.

I feel well here, in the team and in the city. I am doing my best to help my teammates. I do my work on the pitch and my agent is in charge of the rest. Ive never been a defensive player but playing as a Mezzala(half winger) I do everything to help the team in attack and defence. Ive played as an attacking midfielder. I will always try to help the team.

We are preparing for tomorrows game to give our best. We know Salzburg are a strong side, we already played against them in pre-season. We play in front of our fans and we want them to win, then well focus on Roma.

Mkhitaryan could play a more advanced role in the game against Salzburg due to Marko Arnautovics injury.

Mkhitaryan has made two appearances for Inter in the 2023/24 Champions League.

He has scored twice and notched one assist in nine Serie A matches this term.

Inter Milan are second place in Group D of the Champions League this season with four points after matchday two

They have won the Champions League on three occasions in their history (1963/64, 1964/65 and 2009/10).

They are currently first place in the Serie A standings with 22 points after nine games.
