Commenting on Dessers performance, Clement told Rangers TV:I was delighted [with the quality], but also the other chances where the goalkeeper did a good job.

It was a game against a team who are unbeaten with their new manager so its not an easy team to beat. We did a good job not to allow them to play their normal game that they want to play.

I spoke with Cyriel earlier this week about working ever so hard for the team then the chances will come. Its then about being cool and confident so Im happy for him that he scored.

Clement added:But Im also happy for the other players; its not important for me who scores, but rather that we score goals and win games.

Dessers joined Rangers from relegated Italian club Cremonese.

He scored six goals in 26 league games for the Italian side.
