Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde has insisted that the team will be aiming for the maximum points against Napoli in todays Champions League clash.

In a chat with TribalFootball, Valverde stated that the team is well focused to defeat Napoli.

Its important to maintain this string of victories, we always want to play and win, especially in the Champions League. I dont want to speak from a family point of view, Im here, theyre obstacles that life puts in front of us and that we have to overcome.

I tried to focus on Real Madrid, last year we ended on a high by winning the Copa del Rey. I have grown as a person, these are unexpected moments but we have to move forward and have faith in the future.

He added: Kroos, Modric and Isco were the best when I arrived, I learned a lot from them, they made the history of Real Madrid. I watched them, I tried to steal attitudes to grow. Casemiro also helped me.

Early life

Valverde was born on 22 July 1998 in Unin, a neighbourhood in the capital city of Montevideo, to Julio Valverde and Doris Dipetta. He has one older brother, Diego, and two step-brothers, Pablo and Matas Castro.

Valverde is of Spanish and Italian descent and became a naturalised Spanish citizen in 2020 after receiving his Spanish passport.

Valverde started his youth career with his local neighbourhood club, Estudiantes de la Unin. He then tried out for Pearol a few years later and was scouted by Nstor Gonalves.
