Ahmed Ogunleye scored the first goal of the match for Rangers in the eighth minute.
However Samson Ogunribide equalised for the Sky Blue Stars 27 minutes later.
Sikiru Alimi scored the winning goal for the home team in the 53rd minute.
This was Remo Stars’ first Nigeria Premier Football League match of the 2023/24 season.
Speaking in a video posted on the Remo Stars X (formerly known as Twitter) handle, Ogunmodede said his team made crucial mistakes in the first 10 minutes of the encounter.

“We had a very terrible first 10 minutes making crucial mistakes,” Ogunmodede said.
“But you can imagine playing against a team that is well motivated, look at what the team is doing presently through their management. The team is well motivated with a new coach.
“He’s obviously here to come to get the three points but luckily we fought well .
“For sure I can tell you we’ll keep fighting, we’ll always fight, we’ll not chicken out, we know we have a lot of injury worries but nevertheless we are going to make use of what we have.
“We’ll make sure we go all out in the next two away games, they are tough matches.”
The Sky Blue Stars are currently fifth on the NPFL table with three points from one game.
They will face Bayelsa United in their next league game on October 11.
