The Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) have reportedly axed Darren England and Dan Cook in the next round of Premier League matches. The decision to drop the officials is due to their error in the league clash between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend. The pair wrongly ruled Luis Diazs opener for Liverpool offside. It was obvious that Spurs defender Cristian Romero played the Liverpool forward on with his outstretched leg. VAR England and assistant Cook failed to rectify the error because they believed the on-field judgment to be onside at the time of the occurrence. Since the decision was made, Liverpool have been furious and requested that the PGMOL share the audio that resulted in the massive error. According to the Daily Mail, the organization has decided to remove England and Cook off the firing line for the final set of Premier League games before the upcoming international break, which includes an important clash between Arsenal and Manchester City on Sunday. The VAR is John Brooks, while the VARs assistant is Darren Cann. Simon Hooper, who served as the contests referee has been included as the VAR in this Saturdays encounter between Everton and Bournemouth.
