A Nigerian clergyman identified as Emmanuel Ifechukwude Okose enlightens single ladies on the harm of engaging a man for longer years before marriage.

The clergy tells single ladies that receiving an engagement ring from their man does not guarantee them marriage, he implies a man can waste a lady’s time with an engagement ring, hence, she would have lost suitable suitors in that period.

Sharing an experience, he noted how he has seen some women wear an engagement ring for many years and they didn’t even get the proper marriage. The man didn’t perform the necessary marriage rites on them.

He advised ladies to be quick to ask for the wedding date after accepting the engagement ring; if the man doesn’t give a date, the ring should be returned until he has a date. Ladies should act wisely about marriage.

As he gives you the ring ask him what’s the Date of the marriage if he doesn’t have a date let him keep his ring until he as a date, to whom brain is given sense is expected.”
